Service notes

  • Factory filled and sealed: Hydro-Gear's manual says the EZT does not require routine oil maintenance. Add or change oil only for contamination or degradation.
  • Oil is 20W50 engine oil, about 56 fl oz (1.75 qt) per unit. Only units with E or F as the 3rd character of the model number have a drain plug; drain only when the oil is below 100 °F.
  • After installing, purge air from the system following Hydro-Gear's procedure: wheels off the ground, cycle forward/reverse 5–6 times with the bypass open, then 5–6 times closed, and top up the oil.
